Brian Scott Finishes 34th at Dover International Speedway

After rain canceled on track activity Friday at Dover International Speedway, the NASCAR XFINITY Series set the starting lineup of the Hisense 200 per the NASCAR rulebook driver owner points, lining up Brian Scott and the No. 2 ACME/Main St. Bistro Reser’s Chevrolet 12th for the 200-lap event. With no practice time or qualifying, Scott and the Mike Hillman, Jr.-led team were ready to tackle the Monster Mile. Once the race began, Scott radioed loose-handling conditions in his No. 2 machine. During the lap-25 competition caution, the No. 2 Chevrolet visited pit road in the 10th position. After the lap-32 restart, the Boise, Idaho native reported a flat tire on his machine. The team was forced to go to the garage to fix the damage caused by the flat tire. The No. 2 ACME/Reser’s Main St. Bistro Chevrolet returned to the track in hopes of finishing out the race, but was unable to do so bringing home a 31st-place finish.

Start – 12 Finish – 31 Laps Led – 0 Points – 8

BRIAN SCOTT QUOTE:
“Our day will come on this No. 2 team. We’re racing for wins at this point in the season, and there isn’t a team more deserving of a win.”

Ty Dillon Finishes 28th at Dover International Speedway

With the threat of Hurricane Joaquin bearing down on the East Coast, heavy rains and wind were the main topic of conversation at Dover International Speedway this weekend. The inclement weather canceled all on-track activity for the NASCAR XFINITY Series on Friday, consequently setting the starting lineup for Saturday’s 200-lap event by the rule book. Ty Dillon took the green flag in the No. 3 Yuengling Light Lager Chevrolet Camaro from the fourth position. During the first segment of the race, the Welcome, NC.-native reported that his Chevy was good entering the corner, but could use some help off. In order to maintain track position, Nick Harrison (crew chief) elected to stay out on the racing surface during a lap 14 caution flag. As another caution fell just four laps later, Dillon struck debris as he decelerated causing the right-front tire to cut down, ultimately making hard contact with the outside wall. The No. 3 Chevy spent nearly 90 laps in the XFINITY Series garage to repair right-side damage. After returning to the track at lap 114, Dillon made up eight positions on the racetrack, eventually crossing the line 28th. Dillon falls two positions in the NASCAR XFINITY Series championship point standings as a result of the finish.

Start – 4 Finish – 28 Laps Led – 0 Points – 4

TY DILLON QUOTE:
“The Yuengling Light Lager Chevy was really good there at the start, especially considering the lack of practice time. It’s just unfortunate that bad luck hit this team once again. This championship battle is far from over and I’m confident that we’ll be back in contention by the end of this season.”

Austin Dillon Earns Sixth-Place Finish at the Monster Mile

Austin Dillon and the No. 33 Rheem team finished sixth on Saturday at Dover International Speedway. Due to inclement weather in the Dover, Del., area, all track activity for the NASCAR XFINITY Series was canceled. The starting lineup was set per the NASCAR rule book placing Dillon in the fifth spot for the start of the Hisense 200. The Welcome, N.C.-native quickly reported he was too loose. The first of two competition cautions waved on lap 24, and the Danny Stockman-led team visited pit road for right-side tires, fuel and a chassis adjustment. The Rheem team restarted in the 11th spot and ran within the top 12 until the red flag was displayed on lap 114 for rain. The field returned to racing a short time later with Dillon 10th on the board. With the racing groove constantly changing as the race continued, Dillon used different lines to help with the handling of his black and red Chevrolet. The 25-year-old driver maneuvered through the top 10 in the closing laps, crossing the finish line in the sixth position.

Start – 5 Finish – 6 Laps Led – 0 Owner’s Points – 4

AUSTIN DILLON QUOTE:
“Man, if we would have had another couple of laps, we would have gotten fifth. Overall, this Rheem team did a great job. With zero track time before the race, we fired off pretty fast and just needed some minor adjustments. I learned a lot today that I’ll be able to use tomorrow in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race.”

Flat Tire Cuts Gaughan’s Chances at a Top-10 Finish at Dover International Speedway

Brendan Gaughan and the No. 62 South Point Hotel & Casino team earned a 16th-place finish in the Hisense 200 at Dover International Speedway after cutting down a right-front tire late in the event. The Las Vegas -native started the 200-lap race 14th after Hurricane Joaquin canceled series practice and qualifying at the one-mile track. Without anytime on track, Gaughan reported he was loose through the center of the corner in the opening laps of the race. The first of two competition cautions flew on lap 25; Gaughan brought his South Point Hotel & Casino Chevrolet to the attention of his crew for four tires, fuel and a chassis adjustment. Gaughan restarted 15th on lap 32 and continued to battle a loose condition. The Shane Wilson-led crew made adjustments on laps 65 and 105 until rain brought out the red flag. After a lengthy rain delay, Gaughan restarted 17th and quickly moved up to the 12th spot. Gaughan continued to move toward the top-10 until cutting down a right-front tire forcing him to pit road under green-flag conditions. Gaughan returned to the track two-laps down and eventually took the checkered flag in the 16th position.

Start – 14 Finish – 16 Laps Led – 0 Driver Points – 9

BRENDAN GAUGHAN QUOTE:
“We fought loose early in the race, but Shane (Wilson, crew chief) and the boys worked hard all day and made the right adjustments. We were going to get a top-10, but cut a tire down which hurt our day. I’m proud of this crew and the hard work they do.”
