ADVANCE NOTES

Sadler at Phoenix

Elliott Sadler will make his 14th NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) start at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR) this Saturday afternoon in Avondale, Ariz. In Sadler’s previous 13 starts at PIR, he has one win in 2012, four top-five and six top-10 finishes. Earlier this year, Sadler started 10th and finished 12th.

The veteran driver from Emporia, Va also has 19 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) starts at PIR with one top-10 finish.

Previous NASCAR XFINITY Series Race

Sadler finished 10th in his No. 1 OneMain Financial Ford Mustang this past Saturday afternoon at Texas Motor Speedway. NXS qualifying was cancelled due to a weeping track and the field was set by Friday’s practices times. Sadler started 14th and halfway through the race he worked his way up to fourth. With 50 laps remaining in the race, Sadler’s handling loosened up and he drifted back to the 14th position. On his finial pit stop, the pit crew made the needed adjustments to tighten up Sadler’s car. Sadler raced his way forward and crossed the finish line in the 10th position.

2015 NASCAR XFINITY Series Driver Point Standings

Following the NXS race at Texas Motor Speedway, Sadler moved forward one position to the fifth spot in the NXS Driver Point Standings. After 31 races, Sadler is now 118 points behind the leader.

QUOTE WORTHY

“We’re down to the final two races of the 2015 season and it was great to finish in the top 10 last week at Texas Motor Speedway. We head back to Phoenix this weekend and we’re looking for redemption this second time around. Earlier this year, we had a rocket at the start of the race, but a plug wire popped off and we had to make an unplanned pit stop to fix the problem. By the time we opened the hood and fixed the plug wire, we were already multiple laps down. We finished 12th, but we were frustrated as a team, because we knew we had a fast car. Our plan is to use our notes from earlier this year and hopefully we can build off the rocket speed we had in March.”
