LARSON READY TO TAKE THE CHECKERED FLAG ON 2015
The NASCAR XFINITY Series will waive the checkered flag on the 2015 season at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Saturday afternoon. Kyle Larson will pilot the No. 42 Chevrolet for the 14th and final time in 2015 and the second with Procter & Gamble’s Crest brand onboard. In two prior starts at the 1.5-mile South Florida track, Larson has two top-five finishes, including a runner-up finish in 2013. He has an average starting position of 5.0, average finishing position of 2.5 and has led 165 laps at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
WELCOME BACK CREST!
Procter & Gamble and their brand Crest, a trusted leader in oral health care, will partner with Larson for the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Crest was the first oral care brand to secure the ADA Seal of Acceptance for a clinically proven fluoride toothpaste. Since first introducing fluoride toothpaste 54 years ago, it is estimated that Crest has helped prevent more than half a billion cavities in the United States.
PHOENIX RECAP
The penultimate race of the 2015 NASCAR XFINITY Series season took place at the 1.0-mile Phoenix International Raceway last Saturday. Larson was behind the wheel of the ENEOS Chevrolet Camaro for the 200-mile race. Larson started ninth and worked his way to a race-high sixth by lap 34. After the race’s final caution on lap 114, the remaining 80 laps were run under the green flag, forcing the ENEOS Chevy team to stretch fuel to the finish. Fighting a loose condition the remainder of the race, Larson brought the car home in 15th.
LARSON ON HOMESTEAD-MIAMI SPEEDWAY
“Homestead(-Miami Speedway) is one of my favorite tracks. You are able to run the top or the bottom lanes, which is fun for us as drivers. We are bringing the same car we raced in Texas and a led bunch of laps with as well, so hopefully we can contend for a win again with our Crest Chevy. I’d really like to end the season on a high note and with as well as we’ve run at Homestead in the past, that would be a great place to get a win.”
CREW CHIEF MIKE SHIPLETT ON HOMESTEAD-MIAMI SPEEDWAY
“Homestead(-Miami Speedway) is a track that has three racing grooves. The combination of horsepower and handling are the major keys to be successful. The surface of the track will change a lot as the race transitions from sunlight to darkness. Kyle’s record in an XFINITY Series car in Homestead is very impressive and we expect this weekend will be no different.”
