Stenhouse Jr. Looks to Continue Atlanta Success

Hampton, GA (February 26, 2016) – After starting the weekend off with the fourth overall fastest time in the first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) practice at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. hopes to have the same outcome after qualifying as 2013 when he captured his first NSCS pole award.

“Atlanta Motor Speedway is one of my favorite tracks,” Stenhouse Jr. said. “I won my first Sprint Cup pole award there and won the XFINITY race there in 2012 which is one of the coolest trophies I have won in my career. I was really happy with my Ford Ecoboost Ford during first practice so hopefully we can have the same outcome tonight just like we did in 2013.”

In his three starts in the NASCAR XFINITY Series at Atlanta Motor Speedway, the Olive Branch, Miss. native has scored one win, two top-five and three top-10 finishes.

Qualifying for the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 will start tonight at 5:45 pm EST on Fox Sports 1. Qualifying will consist of three rounds, top 24 advance to round two, top 12 advance to round three.

On Saturday night, Stenhouse Jr. will take a break from asphalt racing and will engage in one of the most compelling elements of any Monster Energy Supercross race, the holeshot, with fellow NASCAR drivers. The Holeshot Challenge will take place during intermission prior to the 450SX Class Last Chance Qualifier. The entire 2016 Monster Energy Supercross Championship will air live on FOX Sports, including two races on the FOX broadcast channel.
