Brian Scott and the No. 44 Team Confident with Experience Heading to Lone Star State

Albertsons Companies, Tom Thumb to Adorn Hood of No. 44 Ford Fusion

While Brian Scott’s first Sprint Cup Series start at Martinsville Speedway may not have gone as planned, Scott and the No. 44 Albertsons/Tom Thumb team has confidence heading into the first night race of the season at Texas Motor Speedway. Texas is a familiar track to Scott in both the XFINITY and Cup Series, and one that Scott performed well in past years.

In 12 starts at the 1.5-mile oval in the XFINITY Series, Scott has earned five Top-10 finishes and nine Top-15 finishes. Scott also raced in the Sprint Cup Series at Texas last year, earning a 14th-place finish. Scott also has five starts in the Camping World Truck Series at Texas, finishing in the Top-15 four of those five times. Scott will use that experience to bring the No. 44 Albertsons/Tom Thumb to the front of the field this weekend.

Scott will be a part of a media announcement in conjunction with Go Bowling at the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame on Saturday, April 9. Media are invited to attend the breakfast, and bowl with Scott and “The King” Richard Petty.

“I think we can take some things from Atlanta to Texas, but Atlanta is so unique that we have to be careful. It’s important to realize that Texas, even though it’s shaped the same, and somewhat similar with an old surface, is vastly different. We’re definitely still trying to build off of the success we had in California, another intermediate track, where we’ll look to utilize the different grooves and get our Ford Fusion to the front of the pack with the low downforce package. I’ve found some success from all three series at Texas, and I’m looking forward to being back and hopefully finishing at the front in the first night race of the season.”
