CHASTAIN 19th IN POCONO RAIN

LONG POND, Pa. – Ross Chastain finished 19th in the rain-shortened Pocono Green 250 Xfinity Series race Saturday at Pocono Raceway.

The race, scheduled for 100 laps, was called official at the 53-lap mark when persistent rain showers kept portions of the track too wet for racing.

Chastain, driving the Dream Water Chevrolet, started 29th and progressed smoothly through the field, finishing the race on the lead lap.

“I feel like we had a top-15 car,” Chastain said. “It looked like we were going to be able to get back on the track, but the rain kept coming. I think we could have made up some more positions.”

Chastain remained in 14th position in the Xfinity driver standings.

He has recorded five straight finishes in the top 20.

The series rolls on to Michigan International Speedway for a June 11 race.
