Brian Scott Ready to Race on New Surface in First Cup Start at Kentucky

Medallion Bank to Adorn the Hood of No. 44 Ford Fusion

Brian Scott will make his Sprint Cup debut at Kentucky Speedway this weekend, but he won’t be the only one. Kentucky Speedway recently underwent a repave of the 1.5-mile tri-oval, making it in prime condition for NASCAR to make its annual visit to the Bluegrass State this weekend. Scott is coming off of a frustrating finish in Daytona after he got caught in “The Big One,” forcing him to end his night early.

While this is Scott’s debut in the Cup Series at Kentucky Speedway, he has found success in the XFINITY and Camping World Truck Series. In 10 starts in the XFINITY Series, Scott has one Top-Five finish (finishing second in the Fall race in 2014), two Top-10 finishes and six Top-15 finishes. In the Camping World Truck Series, Scott had one Top-Five finish and two Top-10 finishes in three starts.
Medallion Bank is a Utah-based industrial bank specializing in non-prime recreation loans and prime-credit home improvement loans. Medallion Bank also originated taxi medallion and asset based loans on behalf of the parent company, Medallion Financial. Scott will wheel the No. 44 Medallion Bank Ford Fusion this weekend at Kentucky Speedway in his debut Sprint Cup Series start at the 1.5-mile tri-oval.
“Last weekend in Daytona was disappointing for sure, but unfortunately, that’s just how Daytona goes and sometimes there’s nothing you can do. I’m looking forward to racing on the new surface at Kentucky this weekend. The track is going to be hot and slick for sure, so we’ll have to take that into consideration at practice on Thursday and Friday. The track is relatively flat compared to some of the other mile and a half tracks that we visit, and that should help open up the racetrack and create more lanes to pass. Not to mention, we’ll be running the same rules package that we did at Michigan, which I felt was really good for our No. 44 Ford Fusion. We were running well in Michigan until we got caught in a wreck that ended our day early. The key will be to stay out of trouble and keep our Medallion Bank Ford Fusion at the front.”
