ADVANCE NOTES

Reed at Loudon

Ryan Reed has competed at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS) twice in the NASCAR XFINITY Series. In his first start in 2014, Reed finished 11th after starting 13th. In this race last year, Reed finished 13th after starting 21st.

Riding with Ryan

American Diabetes Association® representative and diabetes advocate Jeff Gillis will ‘ride’ along with Roush Fenway Racing driver Ryan Reed during this weekend’s race. The Burlington, Mass. resident will have his name featured on a decal above the passenger-side window of the No. 16 Ford Mustang.

Like Reed, Gillis lives with diabetes and knows the importance of staying healthy. He was diagnosed 18 years ago and manages his diabetes through adhering to medication, sticking to his diet and getting plenty of physical activity. His favorite form of exercise is cycling with his daughter Emily, who lives with type 1 diabetes. Gillis participates in and raises money for the Association’s North Shore Tour de Cure® cycling event. For the past two years, he has led the top-fundraising corporate team and has organized a company-wide spin-a-thon for the team.

Reed in 2016

Reed is scored 10th in the NASCAR XFINITY Series Championship standings after 16 races. He has led eight laps for the season, has one top-10 finish and has recorded an average finish of 17.4.

Kentucky Recap

Reed and the No. 16 team finished 29th at Kentucky Speedway on Friday night after a tire issue followed by a broken part in the right-rear led to lengthy repairs in the garage.

Reed on Loudon

“I feel confident we can rebound this week after some bad luck in Kentucky,” said Reed. “Loudon is a really unique racetrack and we had run decent there in the past. I spent some time on the simulator this week to prepare and the team has been working for weeks on this car, so we should be in good shape for this weekend.”

Tune-in

Reed and the rest of the NASCAR XFINITY Series will take the green flag from NHMS on Saturday, July 16th at 4 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network and PRN.

Meet Ryan

Reed will meet fans at the NHMS XFINITY Display presented by Comcast on Saturday, July 16th at 12:45 p.m. ET.
