Biffle Finishes 16th at Bristol

BRISTOL, Tenn. (August 21, 2016) – The Bristol race weekend proved all around eventful for Greg Biffle in the No. 16 Ford EcoBoost Ford. A spin in practice was followed up by a spin in qualifying, leaving Biffle with a 34th-place starting position. With a little pit strategy and a fast Ford, Biffle cracked the top 10 in the rain delayed night-race turned day-race but in the end Biffle was shuffled back to cross the finish line 16th.

Biffle took two spins on Friday, one in practice and one in qualifying. Luckily he had a fast Ford EcoBoost Ford but the handling needed a little work. The qualifying spin contributed to the 34th-place starting position and the team knew they needed a little strategy to make up the lost ground at the short track.

Just over 40 laps into Saturday nights’ race, a deluge red flagged the race and a green radar forced NASCAR to postpone the race to Sunday afternoon. Biffle pitted prior to the final red flag Saturday night, lining him up 32nd for the green flag Sunday afternoon.

The rain continued on Sunday, once again pushing back the continuation of the 500-lap race. Once the race was finally underway the skies were clear besides a brief sprinkle towards the very end of the race. Biffle battled handling and was able to stay on the lead lap for almost the entire race, only once receiving the “lucky dog” award.

Biffle cracked the top 10 but lost ground on restarts due to handling. In the end Biffle was able to maneuver his No. 16 Ford EcoBoost Ford to a 16th-place finish.
