CHASTAIN LOOKING FOR REBOUND

ELKHART LAKE, Wisc. – Ross Chastain hopes to use a road course to make a big rebound this week.

After running very strong in last week’s Xfinity Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway, a late-race accident left Chastain with a 32nd-place finish. As he pursues a spot in the first Xfinity Chase playoff, he’ll be shooting for a high finish in Saturday’s Road America 180 at the 14-turn Road America course in Wisconsin.

Chastain has high hopes because he’s finished well in the two previous road-course races this year – 14th at both Watkins Glen International and Mid-Ohio.

“Our road-course cars have really been good, and we need a really good run this week after the Bristol problem,” Chastain said. “Our guys have been working hard on giving us the best cars possible, and I think we’ll be a strong threat at Road America.”

Chastain is 13th in Xfinity points, one spot out of Chase qualification. Four races remain in the regular season.

Practice is scheduled at 10 a.m. and noon (ET) Friday, to be followed by qualifying at 6:35 p.m. The race will get the green flag at 3 p.m. Saturday.
