Roush Fenway Racing and Ryan Reed Support American Diabetes Month® and #ThisIsDiabetes Campaign

CONCORD, N.C. (Nov. 1, 2016) – November 1st officially kicks off American Diabetes Month and the American Diabetes Association’s 2016 campaign, This Is DiabetesTM.  Observed each year, American Diabetes Month is an important element in the American Diabetes Association’s efforts to focus the nation’s attention on the disease and the tens of millions of people affected by it.

This year’s campaign captures the authenticity of people who understand diabetes best, by inviting them to share a glimpse of their lives on social media using #ThisIsDiabetes.  These real-life stories, illustrating the day-to-day triumphs and challenges of the disease, will be featured on the American Diabetes Association’s website and social media channels.

“With Lilly Diabetes and the American Diabetes Association, we work year-round to bring awareness to diabetes through the Drive to Stop DiabetesSM program, but November is obviously a really special month,” said Ryan Reed, driver of the No. 16 Lilly Diabetes/American Diabetes Association Ford.  “I’m so proud to be associated with both of these organizations and all of the good work they are doing for people living with diabetes.”

Roush Fenway Racing and Reed will support the cause in a variety of ways.  Reed and all Roush Fenway Fords will carry a special C-Post decal all month long, highlighting that November is American Diabetes Month.

In addition, Reed’s No. 16 Lilly Diabetes/American Diabetes Association Ford Mustang will sport a special design this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway and at Homestead-Miami Speedway in three weeks.  The deck lid will carry, “This is the fast lane. #ThisIsDiabetes,” bringing the campaign theme to life through Reed’s personal perspective.

The NASCAR XFINITY Series takes the green flag from Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 3:30 p.m. ET on NBC.  Reed enters the race sixth on the NASAR XFINITY Series Championship Grid, just two points out of fourth.
