Last Time at Phoenix

The Saturday afternoon race at ISM Raceway continued into the evening with the help of two red flag delays for rain. Ryan Reed qualified his No. 16 Drive Down A1C Lilly Diabetes Ford 12th, but was plagued by handling woes over the course of the race. An issue on a green flag stop late in the race cost him valuable track position, but despite the setback, Reed worked his way to an 18th-place finish.

Reed on Racing at ISM Raceway

“I think the dynamic on restarts is definitely going to be a lot more exciting with the new configuration. The cars will handle the same, but when we go back and look at past races we study restarts and what guy was able to make what line go and that’s all going to be different. Restarts in our sport are so important since that’s when you are able to make up the most ground and if you are having to come from the back at any point, that’s where you are able to take chunks out of it.”
