Bristol Motor Speedway
BRISTOL BOUND: 2011 Truck Series Championship contender Timothy Peters heads into Bristol Motor Speedway with one goal: survival. Thus far in 2011, the Truck Series has visited three short-tracks in which Peters has scored three top-15 finishes. Peters recorded a fifth at his home track Martinsville Speedway in March followed by an 11th-place finish at Iowa Speedway and backed that up with his third career Truck Series win at Lucas Oil Raceway in late July. These runs give him a 2011 short-track average finish of 5.7. Peters and the No. 17 team hope to capitalize on their success at these type of venues as they hit the high banks of the “World’s Fastest Short-Track” Bristol Motor Speedway.
TOYOTA DOMINANCE: The last four Truck Series events held at Bristol Motor Speedway have welcomed a Toyota to victory lane. Toyota is currently tied with Chevrolet for the most wins of any manufacturer at Bristol Motor Speedway.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Peters will celebrate his 31st birthday on Monday August 29th following the Wednesday evening event at Bristol.

This chassis has also had track time at Kentucky, Nashville and Pocono. The average finish for chassis No. 001 in 2011 is 15.2.
PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Last weekend at Michigan International Speedway, Peters and the No. 17 team fought a tight-handling truck at Michigan International Speedway. However, skillful maneuvering through two late on-track incidents allowed Peters to move into third position for a green-white-checkered finish to the 100-lap contest. Peters was able to pass his Red Horse Racing teammate Miguel Paludo on the final lap to finish second.
Timothy Peters Talks about Bristol Motor Speedway:
What are your thoughts about Bristol Motor Speedway since the repaving a few years ago?
“I love Bristol. The repaving has given the driver two distinct lines to use. I think it has made the racing more competitive and even harder to pass. Instead of moving a truck out of the way on the bottom for position you can use the high lane or the low lane to pass so it makes moving up through the field even more difficult. I love night racing at Bristol though; it is always so exciting and I’m ready to carry the momentum we have built with this No. 17 Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundra all the way to victory lane at the “World’s Fastest Half-Mile”.
Do you think this is the track that is going to be a make or break track when it concerns the championship battle?
“With as close as the points are right now I think every track is a make or break track. Bristol is definitely a place where each of the championship contenders will have to run well. Last week’s events at Michigan have really tightened everything up. We are just going to take each race at a time and try to be as consistent as possible.”
