After hearing from BMS guests about lodging costs and gas prices, BMS General Manager Jerry Caldwell said this added opportunity gives a choice to fans who love the camping experience, but currently are not in the position to incur the fuel costs of pulling their RV to Bristol.
“We obtained a number of RVs that will sleep up to seven,” Caldwell said. “Really nice travel trailers parked on a site with full water, power and sewer hookups, these units rent for $1,500, plus tax, for the week. For a full crew of race fans, that’s under $230 a person for the entire week or just under $35 a day. That’s a tough deal to beat.”
But that isn’t the only choice race fans have for the August races.
“We put a call out to RV owners interested in renting their units,” Caldwell said. “We plan three levels of pricing, $500, $750 and $1,000 for the week depending on the unit and the owner’s requirements. Our friends at Race Lodging are handling the private-unit and full-hookup RV bookings for us.”
RV owners wanting to rent their units and fans booking the full-hookup RVs may call (423) 764-5454 or go to www.racelodging.com .
The August race week at BMS kicks off Aug. 22 with a doubleheader, the Volunteer 200 Camping World Truck Series race and the UNOH Perfect Storm 150 Whelen Modified event. On tap Aug. 24 is the Food City 250 Nationwide Series race, followed by the IRWIN Tools Night Race Sprint Cup event Aug. 25.
