[/media-credit]MOORESVILLE, N.C. – December 13, 2012) – Michel Disdier will pilot Cunningham Motorsports’ No. 77 car at Daytona International Speedway for the first race of the 2013 season, the February 16 event at Daytona International Speedway.
Disdier and the team will participate in the three-day ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards test at Daytona Friday through Sunday. ARCA’s return on Saturday, February 16 will be the sanction’s 50th consecutive annual apperance at the prominent 2.5-mile oval.
Disdier most recently raced in the ARCA Racing Series in 2009. The 38-year-old Frenchman’s racing career began when he was 14 years old. He progressed through the French Motocross Series, Formula Renault, Formula Ford, Formula 3, Formula 3000, and Ferrari Challenge, including a Formula France Championship in 1999. In 2008, Disdier made his first stock car start in the ARCA Racing Series at Salem Speedway. That same year, he also made a start at Toledo Speedway. In 2009, he made eight starts for Bowsher Motorsports.
Looking forward to returning to the stock cars in the United States, Disdier said, “In 2008 and 2009, I was able to participate in ten races in the ARCA Racing Series. (In these races) I discovered different types of oval circuits, short tracks, speedways, and superspeedways. Cunningham is a very great team, which confirms that my presence in American motorsports was noted for many years. We are recognized and respected in the sport for which I have a passion without end.
“I am excited to join them next week in Daytona, where I have already raced in 2007. We will have time to really work on the car, since we will have three days of testing, which has never happened since the beginning of my career.”
