In Search of Gold: With one race down in the 2015 Red Bull Global Rallycross (GRC) season, the Chip Ganassi Racing Teams entries of Brian Deegan, driving the No. 38 Ford Fiesta, and Steve Arpin, driving the No. 00 Ford Fiesta, will step aside from the regular-season GRC schedule to chase gold this weekend at the ESPN X Games in Austin, Tex. Deegan has a total of 14 medals at the X Games, including a gold medal in RallyCross. Arpin has competed at the X Games on four previous occasions, and has two top-five finishes in RallyCar.

Dover Recap: The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) made stop number 13 on the 2015 schedule at Dover International Speedway, nicknamed the “Monster Mile” for its high-banks, concrete racing surface and close-quarters tough racing action. Jamie McMurray and the No. 1 McDonald’s/Cessna team got back on the road after racing close to home at Charlotte Motor Speedway the previous two weeks, looking to tame the monster. The No. 1 team battled hard through an up-and-down race to capture a seventh-place finish.
Pocono Stats: Jamie McMurray has made 24 starts at Pocono Raceway where he has completed 4,304 of 4,412 (97.6%) laps of competition. He has six top-10 finishes with an average start of 16.5 and average finish of 19.8. McMurray has led a total of 21 laps in NSCS competition. He has one pole (July 2005) and his best finish was seventh-place (Aug. 2014).
Stars and Stripes: The No. 1 Cessna Chevrolet will feature a new look this weekend with a patriotic paint scheme. Cessna is supporting this special look as part of the NASCAR Salutes, industry-wide tribute, to show respect and appreciation for our veterans and active military members. Jamie McMurray will drive the Cessna Patriotic car this weekend at Pocono raceway and again later this month at Sonoma Raceway.
Kyle Larson and No. 42 Target Team
Dover Recap: The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) headed north this past weekend to Dover International Speedway – the Monster Mile – a track at which Kyle Larson has enjoyed a bit of success. The Target team put together their most complete weekend of the season, consistently improving throughout the practice sessions on the way to earning their highest starting position of the year. On Sunday, Larson took advantage of the third-place start and a fast Target Chevy to turn in a third-place finish, his best yet this season.
Larson at Pocono: This weekend will mark Larson’s third NSCS race at the Tricky Triangle. In his previous two races there, Larson has met the challenges presented by the tricky track, scoring a fifth-place finish during the first Pocono race last season, and following that up with the pole award in the second race. Larson’s pole award last August was his first ever in the NSCS, and his qualifying speed of 183.438mph set the track qualifying record. Combined, Larson has an average start of 7.5 at Pocono and an average finish of 8.0. He also has a win at Pocono in the ARCA Racing Series, which came last year during the June race weekend.
Wingin’ It: After a hiatus lasting almost six months, Larson got back behind the wheel of a winged sprint car as he competed with the World of Outlaws in Indiana at Kokomo Speedway. Larson ranked 15th following qualifying and won his heat race and would start eighth for the 40-lap race, where he ultimately earned a third place finish.
