INDIANAPOLIS – Harrison Rhodes scored a representative finish in his debut race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway Saturday, posting a 25th in the Lilly Diabetes 250 Xfinity Series race.

Rhodes qualified 29th and ran in the 20s most of the race, protecting his car through a long, very hot afternoon.

“Wow, it was sweltering out there,” Rhodes said. “One of the hottest race days of the year. But it was amazing to get to race on this track where so many legends have been. I wish we could have finished a little better, but we learned a lot.”

Rhodes stayed 23rd in Xfinity driver points.

The race win went to Kyle Busch, and Chris Buescher stayed atop the point standings.

The series races next at Iowa Speedway Aug. 1.
