INDIANAPOLIS – Time in the pits cost Landon Cassill a solid finish in Saturday’s Lilly Diabetes 250 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Near the race’s halfway point, Cassill was forced to his pit when a radiator hose in the Flex Seal Chevrolet began leaking.

Repairs cost him valuable time, and he eventually finished 31st, eight laps behind the leaders.

“We had a pretty good qualifying run, and I thought we could make up some spots on the track,” Cassill said. “But the radiator hose issue knocked us for a loop. Couldn’t really rally after that.”

Cassill stayed 17th in the series’ driver standings.

Kyle Busch scored the race win, and Chris Buescher stayed on top of the point standings.

Iowa Speedway hosts the next Xfinity Series race Aug. 1.
