Petty’s Garage and Medallion Bank to Support Wallace Jr. in Kentucky

Richard Petty Motorsports (RPM) announced today, Petty's Garage and Medallion Bank will return as the primary sponsors of Darrell "Bubba" Wallace Jr. and the No. 43 team during this weekend's events at the Kentucky Speedway. Petty's Garage will be on the hood with Medallion Bank on the sides of the No. 43 Camaro ZL1. The famed No. 43 will have the popular Petty Blue and day-glo orange colors on the car.

News and notes: After the demolition derby at Daytona International Speedway, Boyd escaped the World Center of Racing unscathed with his best career finish of 17th. The series continues their summer tour with another Friday night under the lights race at Kentucky Speedway this weekend. "I'm really proud of the gains we've made as a team lately," says Boyd. "We survived Daytona and brought home a great finish. Kentucky should be a really good test for us. I've never been there before, so I'm just going in with a positive attitude and hope to learn as much as I possibly can."

Self on Racing at Kentucky: “I’ve always enjoyed racing at Kentucky, even though my finishes don’t show that,” said Self. “Kentucky is a very weather sensitive track and even though it’s been repaved a couple years ago, I’ve heard the track is still getting rougher.  The rougher the track is, the better racing it can produce, but it also creates a challenge for us when it comes to handling."

Friday night’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Kentucky Speedway will mark Ryan Reed’s ninth start at the 1.5-mile track.  In his previous eight starts, Reed’s best finish of seventh came in the fall of 2016.

NCWTS Advance: Kentucky Speedway

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) will return to action this weekend at Kentucky Speedway. DGR-Crosley will field two trucks in the Buckle Up in Your Truck 225 with the No. 54 Crosley Brands Toyota Tundra for Bo LeMastus and the No. 17 BlazeMaster Fire Protection Toyota driven by Chris Eggleston.

Passing the ROVAL Test

A collection of NASCAR’s top drivers experienced their first up-close look at NASCAR’s newest track on Tuesday, when ROVAL™ Test Fest roared to life on the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL™. Fans witnessed stars including Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin take part in high-speed shakedowns on the 2.28-mile, 17-turn road course oval that will be used in the inaugural Bank of America ROVAL™ 400 race weekend Sept. 28-30.

HENDRICK MOTORSPORTS AT KENTUCKY: In seven races at Kentucky Speedway, Hendrick Motorsports has posted two poles, six top-five finishes, 15 top-10s and 216 laps led. The venue, which began hosting NASCAR's premier series in 2011, is the only active track where Hendrick Motorsports has not produced a win in the Cup Series. The organization has finished in every position from second to 14th at the track at least once.

CHEVY MENCS AT KENTUCKY: Team Chevy Advance

Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 driver, Alex Bowman, will make his 100th career Cup Series start this weekend at Kentucky Speedway. This year marks Bowman’s first full-time season at Hendrick Motorsports after becoming the driver of the No. 88 Chevy when Dale Earnhardt, Jr. announced his retirement in 2017. So far, Bowman has recorded one pole, one top five and seven top-10 finishes since taking over the seat of the No.88.
