You can put away the ‘purple stuff’ – SunnyD is back on the No. 17 Ford Fusion this weekend in Pocono. With that, driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is launching a campaign to have his fans “Share a SunnyD” with a friend.
“Pocono should be fun this weekend with this being the first time the XFINITY cars have run there. We had some decent runs here with the truck so hopefully, what I learned back in 2013 and 2014 can help us out this weekend and give us a strong run with our LoudMouth Exhaust Mustang.”
“I’m ready to rebound this weekend in Pocono. I’m confident that (crew chief) Matt (Puccia) will give me a solid AdvoCare Ford this weekend and that we can run up front and get a strong finish come Sunday afternoon.”
“We didn’t have the best of luck at Pocono last year so hopefully we can rebound this year. Pocono is a unique track because all three corners are distinct. We have SunnyD back on our Ford which is a fan favorite. Fuel mileage usually comes into play so hopefully we can keep our SunnyD Ford clean and be there at the end.”
“All of the XFINITY Series regulars become rookies again this weekend as we take on Pocono for the first time in these cars,” said Reed. “It will be really interesting to see how these cars handle over the bumps and what kind of speed we reach as we hit the track for the first time on Thursday.
“Pocono is a unique place and a lot of fun to race at. You hear us talk about three different corners, different banking, dogleg, tunnel turn, and a real flat long turn three to go down a big long straightaway. Strategy is getting your car to turn and have grip in all those different corners.
Ryan Reed and the ‘Riding with Ryan’ program roll into Pocono Raceway for the first time this weekend. The NASCAR XFINITY Series has never visited Pocono, but Reed has competed at the track twice in the ARCA Racing Series. In 2012, Reed took home two top-10 finishes at the track.
NASCAR’s summer swing officially kicks off this weekend at Pocono Raceway, where Ford has 21 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series wins. Here’s a closer look back at some of the more memorable ones.
Bubba Wallace, driver of the No. 6 LoudMouth Exhaust Ford Mustang, ran up front and led five laps before ultimately recording a 27th-place finish on Saturday afternoon in the NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The finish came after Wallace sustained damage to the right-rear of his Roush Fenway Ford from contact with the outside retaining wall.
Haiden Deegan came into St. Louis with a shot at securing a second straight Western Divisional 250SMX Class Championship and did so by dominating against a full field of the class’ top talent during the East/West Showdown.
The two-time ARCA Menards Series East champion from Eden Prairie, Minnesota, led 80 of 250 laps and became the 183rd competitor to win in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series division by winning for the first time ever at The Rock.
