Aric Almirola, driver of the No. 43 Farmland Ford Fusion, is currently 10th in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series point standings heading into this weekend’s annual Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Almirola was a guest on this week’s NASCAR teleconference and spoke about the start to his 2013 season.

He is the defending winner of the Food City 500, which marked his second-consecutive win at the half-mile. He is one of 12 drivers in Bristol history to win consecutive races.

Reed Sorenson will make his second start with the No. 43 Flying J Ford team this weekend at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway. Filling in for the injured Michael Annett, Sorenson will compete in his 12th Nationwide race and 22nd NASCAR race at the World's Fastest Half Mile.

Marcos Ambrose enters the weekend 16th in championship points and looks to move back up the point standings with a solid finish in the No. 9 DEWALT Ford at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway. The No. 9 team posted a fifth-place finish last fall at the World's Fastest Half Mile giving the team confidence that they can come away with a solid top-10 finish this weekend.

To help get the Auto Club 400 Weekend underway, March 22-24, the spectacle of a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Hauler Parade will make its way to Auto Club Speedway from Citizens Business Bank Arena (4000 E. Ontario Center Parkway, Ontario) through Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga and Fontana, beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 21.

Indoor midget racing takes a combination of two very important elements to be in contention for wins. First, a fast car and second, a little bit of luck. Tracy Hines had both of those at various times this past weekend as he took to the track at the Cedar Lake Arena in New Richmond, Wisc., for the Sasquatch Indoor Nationals presented by Jack Link's Beef Jerky, which served as the season opening two races for the Stark Automotive Group/Mid-State Equipment Badger Midget Series.

Frank Kimmel continued his resurgent season Saturday with a comeback fifth-place finish in the ARCA Mobile 200, the second annual ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards event at Mobile International Speedway.

After Friday's wash-out practice day, Hal Martin and other NASCAR Nationwide Series drivers had a single 45 minute practice session on Saturday in which to learn the track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
