Every series has it's top dog, top team - someone that everyone wants to beat. When it comes to NASCAR, there's only one simple answer in the view of many - Jimmie Johnson. Johnson won five straight championships, before losing the last two to Tony Stewart and Brad Keselowski. With that, he is the championship favourite to many and the one that many predict will win the championship this year.

Start and Park will never be for the famed Wood Brothers team, they plan on running the same amount of races as they have this year. Daytona 500 champ Trevor Bayne has been piloting the No. 21 Ford for the team in 12-events throughout the 2013 year. That plans to be the same for 2014.

At the conclusion of the Bank of America 500, fans were raving about the finish and seemed generally satisfied. The first 300 laps though featured very little passing with rare, evanescent battles but the enthralling fight for the win still made it a good race in the eyes of many.

Jamie McMurray is one of the nicest guys in the garage. He’s a family man and gives everything he has to be successful. When he was tagged to replace a retiring Mark Martin so long ago, much was expected of him. It never came to fruition. It has been the same story since moving to Earnhardt Ganassi Racing. It’s not that he hasn’t had the talent; it’s more than he didn’t have the talent behind him.

Jimmie Johnson leads the most laps and finishes 13th, but that was good enough to regain the points lead from Matt Kenseth. While others tried fading to the back, Johnson tried to stay as close to the front as possible.

Mayhem struck the front straightaway on the final lap at Talladega like it's done many times in the past. Miguel Paludo went flipping across the line and was taken to the infield care center but later released. Justin Lofton on the other hand was one of the unlucky that was injured in the carnage.
