NASCAR Cup Series

It has a week of discovery. We know that Kevin Harvick is off to a great start. We know that Tony Stewart is not. We now know that NASCAR funds an organization run by Al Sharpton. We know that Kurt Busch’s ex is not happy that Kurt is back racing, and I discovered I just do not care.

California Dreaming...The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) hits its last of three races in a row out west this weekend at Auto Club Speedway (ACS). Justin Allgaier will make his second NSCS start at the Ontario, Calif. track this weekend. ACS is the first 2.0-mile track the NSCS will race on this season.

Last year's race at Auto Club Speedway netted Annett a 19th-place finish that served as the first top-20 result and first lead-lap finish of his Cup Series career. He earned top-20 finishes in each of his six NASCAR Xfinity Series starts at the facility.

Racing has been Brian Vickers’ passion of choice since a young age when he climbed behind the wheel of his family’s race cars. It led to fame and fortune as trophies filled the trophy case. But battles with life threatening illness in adulthood made the young racer turn his passion towards health.

“It should be a fun race. To be good there though you have to be able to roll into the corner and drive through it right up against the wall. There’s always some good three-wide racing and last year we had our PEAK Toyota in positon in the closing laps –like nearly won the darn thing but just had a tire go down with a lap to go.

Auto Club Speedway is close to the top when it comes to Sam Hornish Jr.'s list of favorite tracks. Like Phoenix, it's a track where he's found success in both stock cars and open wheel racing. Hornish holds the record for the fastest closed-circuit race ever in the Verizon IndyCar Series with an average speed of 207.151 mph over 400 miles, which he set at the two-mile track in 2003.

Straight out of Concord, Roush Fenway Racing returns to the Golden State for the third-leg of the West coast swing as the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) heads to the Auto Club Speedway (ACS) in Fontana, Calif. a track that has seen a Roush Fenway Ford visit Victory Lane 15 times.

For Truex and his No. 78 Furniture Row/Denver Mattress Chevrolet it doesn’t seem to make a difference if the race is contested in the Eastern or Pacific time zones. Early success for the Mayetta, N.J. native has been achieved in both areas of the country.
