Nickelodeon today announced that it is the entitlement sponsor of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Saturday, May 9 at Kansas Speedway dubbed the SpongeBob SquarePants 400. The SpongeBob SquarePants 400, which will be broadcasted on 7:30 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1, will feature a weekend of Bikini Bottom-themed activities and fun for the entire family.

Austin Dillon said at the beginning of the year that he wanted to be more aggressive and run towards the front to put himself into contention for the Championship. The sophomore competitor wouldn't get to do to that on Sunday as tire issues would plague his run towards the front of the field.

With drivers out of cars due to injury, surgery and suspension, there have been plenty of subs needed in just the first two events of the year. At Atlanta Motor Speedway, four sub-drivers took to the track and in the end, it was a rookie topping them in performance.

With several of the sport’s biggest names starting from the back of the field, from missing qualifying sessions to missing driver introductions, here is what else was surprising and not surprising from the 56th annual Folds of Honor Quicktrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Richard Childress Racing teammates Ryan Newman, Paul Menard and Austin Dillon finished 10th, 13th and 39th, respectively. Paul Menard ranks 17th in the Sprint Cup Series championship point standings, trailing current leader Joey Logano by 38 points, while Ryan Newman ranks 21st and Austin Dillon ranks 25th.

Trevor Bayne, driver of the No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Fusion, battled both Mother Nature and the ever changing track conditions to earn a hard fought 19th-place finish Sunday afternoon at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Martin Truex Jr. notched his second consecutive top-10 finish, placing sixth in Sunday's Sprint Cup Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The result followed an eighth-place finish in last week's season-opening Daytona 500.

Johnson didn't take the lead in the second NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race of the season until Lap 198 of 325, but from then on, his No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet was the class of the field, leading six times for 92 laps in winning for the fourth time at Atlanta and for the 71st time in his career.

"We had a great race car,” said Johnson, who scored his 71st career Sprint Cup series victory. “Unfortunately the way qualifying went Friday, we didn't have a good pit stall pick and it took us a long time to get in front of the No. 19 (Carl Edwards).

Kevin Harvick blew an engine in practice and went to the back of the field for the start of Sunday's Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
