We have just gotten the season underway, and already we got guys torqued. I mean, some got downright ornery.

Family Court Commissioner David Jones ordered Kurt Busch to stay away from ex-girlfriend Patricia Driscoll in court documents signed Monday. The order is effective immediately and will expire February 16, 2016.

“NASCAR has been closely following the civil proceedings in Kent County (Del.) Family Court regarding driver Kurt Busch and therefore is aware of the court order issued today. We now await the full findings of the Commissioner and any actions by the Attorney General of Delaware related to the allegations against Busch.

They were supposed to qualify for the Daytona 500 on Sunday, but what happened was really not qualifying. The tradition of the sport of auto racing is that the fastest car starts first and the slowest car starts last.

Qualifying for the DAYTONA 500 this year was for the first time a group effort, but it produced a singular resulton Sunday that immediately found a special place in the event’s hallowed history.

Abby Wambach, Kelley O’Hara and Christie Rampone will represent the U. S. Women’s National Soccer Team as the Honorary Starters of the 57th annual DAYTONA 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Sunday, Feb. 22 at 1 p.m.at Daytona International Speedway (TV – FOX, FOX Deportes; Radio – MRN Radio, SiriusXM).

For the third consecutive year, the Chevrolet SS will lead the field to the green flag for the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway. This year, Jeff Gordon put the bowtie in the top spot for the Great American Race with a lap of 44.711 seconds/201.293 mph. Gordon’s qualifying lap is the first time since 1987 that the pole sitter turned a lap over 200 mph.
