RYAN NEWMAN, NO. 31 CATERPILLAR CHEVROLET SS, met with members of the media today at Texas Motor Speedway. Newman discussed his position in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, his thoughts on this weekend’s race and the season, being aggressive at Texas and other topics. FULL TRANSCRIPT:

Joey Logano, driver of the No. 22 AAA Ford Fusion for Team Penske, was the first driver to meet with media members Friday at Texas Motor Speedway ahead of the AAA Texas 500 race weekend. Logano, one of the eight drivers still alive for the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup championship, spoke about his win here in the spring and what the team looks for this weekend.

So, Danica Patrick is not all sweetness and loveliness. Okay, she is the latter, but the fact she is a little ticked or not going along with the company line, has some folks talking. She is upset with Joey Logano, she had a bit of a run in with Martin Truex Jr. at Martinsville and she thinks qualifying at Talladega stinks after her boyfriend got left in the cold. She even is not a fan of NASCAR’s diversity program.

This week NASCAR travels to Texas Motor Speedway for a tripleheader action packed weekend.

A lot of things have happened since I last posted here. Brad Keselowski did the impossible and won at Talladega while Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jimmie Johnson were eliminated from the almighty Chase. Almost forgot the elimination included Kyle Busch. After Charlotte, maybe Brad can replace Kyle as NASCAR fans’ most hated driver. The jury is still out on that.

Texas Motor Speedway: "I’m looking forward to Texas Motor Speedway just more so based on how we have ran at the last couple mile-and-a-half race tracks," Allmendinger said.

Kevin Harvick is scheduled to make his 500th career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) start in Sunday’s AAA Texas 500 race at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS). In the midst of his 14th season in the series, Harvick has earned 26 wins, 111 top fives, 226 top-10 finishes and 14 pole awards.
