Martin Truex Jr. kept coming back from tire rubs and hits to his race car Sunday at the Martinsville short rack. But Truex’s flat-black No. 78 Furniture Row/Denver Mattress Chevrolet found itself in a non-survivable situation when it got collected with major damage during a multicar wreck on Lap 437 of 500.

JOEY LOGANO – No. 22 Shell/Pennzoil Ford Fusion – “It was a solid points day. It’s a good the 88 won and not the 24, that’s a good thing. We just weren’t fast enough with our Shell/Pennzoil Ford. We didn’t have the lateral, forward drive that I needed off the corner and every time we tried to fix that the center didn’t turn."

Goody’s® announced today that it is expanding its partnership with Dale Earnhardt Jr., the most popular driver in NASCAR. Beginning in 2015, and extending through 2017, Earnhardt will drive the No. 88 Goody’s car in one race each year in the NASCAR XFINITY Series. This marks the first time Earnhardt —who has been a spokesperson for Goody’s for the past two years—will drive a Goody’s-sponsored car.

David Ragan has a special paint scheme on his No. 34 Ford Fusion this weekend at Martinsville Speedway that honors 2015 NASCAR Hall of Fame Inductee Wendell Scott. Ragan spoke about that with members of the media prior to today’s final NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practice.

Chip Ganassi Racing driver Jamie McMurray posted a lap of 99.905 mph to grab his second Coors Light Pole Award of the season. It was also his second pole at the famed half-mile paperclip and his 11th career pole.

Jamie McMurray drove his No. 1 McDonald’s Chevrolet SS to the pole position Friday at Martinsville Speedway for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series’ Goody’s Headache Relief Shot 500. McMurray posted a lap of 18.954 seconds (99.905 mph) for his second career pole position at the track.
