NASCAR Cup Series

In his 300th career Sprint Cup Series start, Martin Truex Jr. saw a top-10 finish fade in the closing segment of Sunday’s Kobalt 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Brad Keselowski passed Dale Earnhardt Jr. on the final lap of Sunday’s Kobalt Tools 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway to score the victory. Keselowski notched his 11th career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victory after leading a dominating 52 laps of the 267 laps ran in ‘Sin City’.

Matt Kenseth (10th) was the first Camry driver to the finish line in Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Brad Keselowski was the Las Vegas race-winner.

This marks the first time a Ford driver has won both series events on the same weekend since Carl Edwards did it at Phoenix in 2010.

Aric Almirola, driver of the No. 43 Smithfield Ford Fusion, and new crew chief Trent Owens have gotten off to a good start with NASCAR’s new qualifying format, advancing to the final round at Phoenix and Las Vegas. Almirola, who is scheduled to start eighth in tomorrow’s Kobalt 400, spoke about the start to his season while Owens gave his impression of how things have gone so far at Richard Petty Motorsports.

Last weekend, McMurray had a solid weekend at Phoenix International Raceway as he qualified third and raced to a 10th place finish.

For Jimmie Johnson, Las Vegas is one of the track that he likes to go to each year as he spent a lot of times as a young kid racing dirt bikes in the area.

At Phoenix International Raceway, it was Brad Keselowski grabbing the pole with his Team Penske teammate Joey Logano second. This weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, it was the opposite as Joey Logano grabbed the pole with Keselowski second.

“It was obviously good. To have a Penske front row the last two weekends at two completely different race tracks just goes to show how hard these guys have been working. When you work hard those results come.
