With the season coming down to the final race, Johnson crossed the finish line of the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship season with the help of Quaker State technology, developed with durability in mind to keep the No. 48’s engine running through to the checkered flag.

Johnson clinched his sixth Sprint Cup championship, and first in two years, with a ninth at Homestead. He finished the season 19 points ahead of Matt Kenseth.

Roush Fenway Racing (RFR) has announced it is reorganizing its crew chief lineup in 2014. Mike Kelley, who has served as the crew chief on the No. 6 NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) team for the past four seasons, will move to the Sprint Cup Series, where he will reunite with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. on the No. 17 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team.
