When Juan Pablo Montoya said he wanted to be racing behind the wheel of a championship car, he didn't limit himself to which series he'd be in. Those words are playing true as reports released this week show Montoya driving for Michael Andretti next season.

On Saturday night at Richmond International Raceway, a series of events played out that resulted in catching a lot of people’s attention of how Michael Waltrip Racing tried to manipulate the Chase. For starters, Clint Bowyer spun with just under 20 laps to go without contact on the radio. Well it may look harmless, radio traffic would say to have proven otherwise.

When it comes to being green, Michigan International Speedway leads the way. NASCAR today recognized MIS as being an industry leader during the sport’s annual Green Summit in Chicago, site of this weekend’s start of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.

Edwards at Chicago enters Chicago fifth in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Chase point standings. In 26 starts, Edwards has accumulated two wins, eight top-five,13 top-10 finishes and one pole. Edwards will make his ninth Cup start at Chicagoland Speedway this weekend. In his previous starts, Edwards has three top-five and three top-10 finishes. His average start is 14.6 and his average finish is 16.6.

Kasey Kahne roared into downtown Roanoke Wednesday morning to a cheering crowd of fans who had packed the Historic Roanoke City Market for a glimpse of the NASCAR Sprint Cup star.

Cole Whitt is getting the opportunity to jump into the No. 30 Toyota for Swan Racing, making his debut at Chicagoland Speedway this weekend....

Sometime over the next ten weeks, at one of ten tracks hosting the Chase, Clint Bowyer will be sailing along. He will feel a sudden nudge in his left rear quarter-final, just a touch but enough to cause him to feel the car getting out from under him. Bowyer will try to save it, and come close in doing so but, alas, his car will find the wall. His race and his Chase hopes, done in an instant.

In the Spot Light: Juan Pablo Montoya, driver of the No. 42 Target Chevrolet SS, was honored by the Hispanic Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C. last week. The 26th annual Hispanic Heritage Awards took place at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and was a ceremony to celebrate Hispanic cultural pride, contributions and accomplishments.

Last weekend at RIR, Harvick and the No. 29 Budweiser team earned an 11th-place finish after a late-race caution ruined their strategy for victory.
