NASCAR Cup Series

Kurt Busch said he didn’t have his “A” game but the Furniture Row Racing driver dug deep and maneuvered his way to a ninth-place finish in Sunday’s Sprint Cup Series road race at Watkins Glen International.

Watkins Glen and Penske Racing are becoming synonymous with each other. That being synonymous with finishing second as the No. 2 Miller Lite car has wound up there the last four consecutive years.

After the destroyed racecars were towed away, the smoke faded and the crowd dispersed, Kyle Busch was left standing triumphantly in victory lane at Watkins Glen. Brad Keselowski got to the bumper of Kyle and bumped him in the final corner but it wasn't enough to dislodge the No.18 from the top spot.

The Cheez-It 355 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Watkins Glen International featured plenty of cautions and a lengthy red flag delay, but that didn’t deter Juan Pablo Montoya, driver of the No. 42 Target Chevrolet SS from posting a strong top-five finish - his third top-five finish of 2013.

MARCOS AMBROSE – No. 9 Stanley/CTC Jumpstart Ford Fusion – “I’m just really disappointed for my Stanley team. Something was wrong with the car there and I just couldn’t get going. I could feel on the roll-around lap that something had broken, but I just feel bad for the guys who got caught up in all that mess. That’s not the way we wanted our day to finish, but thank you to Stanley and Ford and everybody at Richard Petty Motorsports for giving me a good shot to win today. We had a very fast car, but it just wasn’t our day.”

A total of 18 Team Chevy drivers will start the Cheez-It 355 at The Glen NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race at Watkins Glen International. The 90-lap event will begin at 1:00 p.m., ET and will air live on ESPN, MRN Radio, Sirius/XM Radio Channel 90 and www.nascar.com.

Richard Childress Racing has named Mark McArdle as their Director of Racing Operations on a full-time basis, effective this weekend at Watkins Glen International.

This week we travel back to the place that was the start of my NASCAR days. Sunday's race at Watkins Glen International marks my 19th consecutive year at The Glen and it's a track near and dear to my heart, and no matter where life takes me, it will always serve as my 'Hometown Track'.

Marcos Ambrose has won the last two Sprint Cup races at Watkins Glen and he will start his run at a third consecutive victory from the pole with Michael Waltrip Racing's Clint Bowyer 2nd. Marcos seems untouchable at this track and a pole to kick off his pursuit for his third win in as many years at this historic race track is very bad news for the competition.
