JIMMIE JOHNSON, NO. 48 LOWE’S CHEVROLET, met with members of the media at Richmond International Raceway and discussed the importance of winning this weekend at Richmond, Kasey Kahne’s championship chances, his hope at earning a sixth championship title and other topics.

DALE EARNHARDT, JR., NO. 88 DIET MOUNTAIN/NATIONAL GUARD CHEVROLET, met with members of the media at Richmond International Raceway and discussed racing at Richmond, his and the team’s mindset heading into the Chase and Jeff Gordon’s status going into Saturday night’s race.

Points leader Greg Biffle and third-place Matt Kenseth are the only Ford drivers locked into the Chase for the Sprint Cup, heading into this weekends race at Richmond.

KYLE BUSCH, No. 18 M&M's Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing What is your outlook for this weekend at Richmond? "This has always been a really good place for us. We like coming to Richmond. It's always one of those places that I've looked forward to coming to whether it's been in April or May or September that you get an opportunity to race at a short track similar to Bristol, similar to Martinsville and come out of here with a strong run. We've been good here and I just kind of hope to keep the trend going and not mess up."

Marcos Ambrose, driver of the No. 9 Stanley Ford Fusion, and Carl Edwards, driver of the No. 99 Fastenal Ford Fusion, both have a chance to qualify for next week’s Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup if they can win and have luck fall their way in terms of the point standings. Both participated in a media session to discuss their chances.

Let’s examine The Chase. The tracks that are involved these days are Chicagoland, New Hampshire, Dover, Talladega, Charlotte, Kansas, Martinsville, Texas, Phoenix and Homestead.

Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) will head back to Richmond International Raceway for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series’ (NSCS) second stop at the 0.75-mile track. David Reutimann will pilot the No. 10 Inc. 5000 / @TMone 6-peat Chevrolet in Saturday night’s 300-mile event. Dave Blaney will drive the No. 36 Chevrolet in the Federated Auto Parts 400.

Homestead-Miami Speedway and the United States Coast Guard Seventh District Regional MWR Office located in Base Miami Beach will welcome Chase for The NASCAR Sprint Cup qualifier Matt Kenseth to South Florida for a series of activities on Tuesday (September 11).
