Biffle on racing at Richmond International Raceway: “It feels good to be locked into the Chase. I’m ready for Richmond, but it’s been a hit or miss track for us. Richmond is definitely a driver’s track and the night race this weekend will be exciting for fans. We are taking a brand new chassis this weekend and hopefully we can get another win before the Chase starts.”

RCR at RIR ... Richard Childress has eight NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victories as a car owner at Richmond International Raceway - five with Dale Earnhardt, two with Kevin Harvick and one with Clint Bowyer. Additionally, in 132 starts at the Richmond, Va.-based, RCR drivers have claimed 33 top-five and 60 top-10 finishes at RIR. Childress, a former driver on NASCAR's senior circuit, contributed three of those top-10 finishes from 1976-1978.

Penske Racing announced today that Joey Logano will join the team in 2013. He will drive the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

Kenseth on racing at Richmond International Raceway: “You never know how the racing will be this weekend at Richmond with guys still trying to race their way into the Chase. I think certainly since NASCAR added the wild card element that it’s put another interesting twist into qualifying for the Chase so I’m looking forward to seeing what happens."

Dodge earned its seventh appearance in the eight-year history of the Chase when Brad Keselowski locked in a berth with a third-place finish at Atlanta.

With a "Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup" berth on the line at Richmond International Raceway this weekend, the No. 24 Drive To End Hunger team will be focused on one team - and one team only - in their effort to secure a spot in the 10-race playoff.

The Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) team started the AdvoCare 500 from the 22nd position. Dave Blaney ran the No. 36 Chevrolet in the top-30 all day as the team made adjustments to help a tight-handling racecar. Blaney secured a 25th-place finish in the 327-lap event.

While many top-tier NASCAR teams are facing the loss of major sponsorship dollars, Front Row Motorsports has managed to not only weather the storm but to attract even new sponsors to their program.

Atlanta, the place where Richard Petty made his exit and Jeff Gordon made his Cup entrance back in 1992. It is where Alan Kulwicki claimed his title. It was the venue from which Sunday's action was telecast, but after the initial broadcast hype I found these old eye lids fluttering like I was a damsel meeting Prince Harry in Las Vegas for the first time. To ask if I found much of the race boring, especially the first two-thirds, is like wondering if the Pope is German.
