Marcos Ambrose and the No. 9 Stanley Ford team earned the team's second consecutive top-five finish of the 2012 season with a fifth-place finish in Sunday's Pure Michigan 400. The effort began with an eighth-place starting position after the team turned in its second straight strong qualifying effort at Michigan International Speedway, where the team earned the pole in June.

Trevor Bayne and the Motorcraft/Quick Lane crew went into Sunday’s Pure Michigan 400 hoping to put behind them a disappointing run at Michigan International Speedway back in June, when engine troubles ended their day just after the start.

On lap 68 of the 200-lap Pure Michigan 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race, Kasey Kahne and his No. 5 Farmers Insurance Chevrolet avoided a multi-car wreck and slid through the infield grass of Michigan International Speedway.

Friday we were good and worked real hard on it through the eventing. We looked at what the 17 was doing and what we did here last race. We were much faster in the Saturday practices and got it going fast."

Greg Biffle captures his second win of the season on Sunday in the Pure Michigan 400 at Michigan Int'l Speedway. Biffle was gaining on leader Jimmie Johnson with less than 10 laps to go. With six laps remaining, Johnson slowed with an engine failure, bringing out the final caution of the day and giving Biffle the race lead.

He had a fast car and passed me legit and I couldn’t keep up with him. Between the 48 (Jimmie Johnson) the 16 (Greg Biffle) and the 55 (Mark Martin) those three cars were just I think the class of the field today."

Greg Biffle took the lead from an off-the-pace Jimmie Johnson with only six laps remaining and held on through the final restart to earn Roush Fenway’s record 12th Sprint Cup victory at Jack Roush’s ‘home track’ of Michigan International Speedway.

Camry driver Clint Bowyer (seventh) was the top-finishing Toyota driver in Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race at Michigan International Speedway.

KASEY KAHNE, NO. 5 FARMERS INSURANCE CHEVROLET - FINISHED THIRD: ON HIS RACE: "We had one of the best cars here. Our Farmers Insurance Chevrolet was great. Spun there. A couple of slower guys spun and then we got caught up in that. But it is this team. The guys had the No. 55 car (Mark Martin) basically land in our pit, and they all survived that fortunately."
