NASCAR Cup Series

After a strong performance in Daytona last weekend, Roush Fenway heads north to New Hampshire Motor Speedway where the team will look to build on Matt Kenseth’s Sprint Cup point lead, while powering Carl Edwards closer to a 2012 ‘Chase’ berth.

Nicole Briscoe wasn’t working last weekend at the Daytona International Speedway. She got paid to be there. She again hosted NASCAR Countdown on ESPN for the Nationwide Series Friday night.

Stewart zoomed past the Roush Fenway duo of Matt Kenseth and Greg Biffle to win the Coke Zero 400, Stewart’s fourth Coke Zero win and 18th overall at Daytona.

Daytona was once again a thrill ride, with action from start to finish. But enough about the Nationwide event. The Cup side, well the final few laps sure provided something to talk about, but the tandem racing of Friday actually trumped the Saturday evening affair.

NASCAR has issued penalties to three of its race teams as a result of rules infractions committed during last weekend’s events at Daytona International Speedway.

EGR at New Hampshire: EGR has made 55 starts at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS). In those starts, EGR has earned four top-five, eight top-10, 17 top-15 and 26 top-20 finishes.

No. 56 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota driver Martin Truex Jr. considers New Hampshire Motor Speedway his home track. It’s been good to his family. Five times a Truex has crossed the finish line first in one of NASCAR’s major divisions.

Maybe a career has been destroyed. Just like the teacher I once knew who was accused of unthinkable acts, lost his job, but exonerated. It didn’t make much difference.

Kenseth on racing at New Hampshire Motor Speedway: “Loudon has been a track that we’ve struggled at for the past four or five years but our last outing we ran pretty competitively so I’m looking forward to building upon that."
