Restrictor plate racing is not racing. You have read it here from me for a long time, but rarely do we hear it from the competitors.

Richard Childress is tied for third all time with Holman-Moody and the Wood Brothers for car owner victories at Darlington with eight - each with Dale Earnhardt behind the wheel. In 103 collective starts, RCR boasts 21 top-five and 35 top-10 finishes at the 1.366-mile egg-shaped oval with five different drivers including Clint Bowyer, Earnhardt, Kevin Harvick, Jeff Burton and Robby Gordon.

The 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is officially in the “11-second” club, as engineers recently turned an 11.93-second/116-mph quarter-mile elapsed time run in a showroom-stock Camaro ZL1 automatic. A Camaro ZL1 manual ran an 11.96-second ET at 117 mph.

Hendrick Motorsports will host a fan appreciation day on Friday, May 25 during Charlotte Motor Speedway race weeks. The Hendrick Motorsports Fan Fest will be held at the team’s Concord facility and feature an array of family-friendly activities, including scheduled appearances by NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers Kasey Kahne, Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Kevin Harvick and the No. 29 Budweiser Chevrolet team travel to Darlington (S.C.) Raceway this weekend for Saturday night’s Bojangles’ Southern 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race.

No. 15 5-hour ENERGY Toyota driver Clint Bowyer will pay extra attention to the command to start his engine at Saturday night’s NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Darlington Raceway.

EGR at Darlington: In 2002, EGR driver Sterling Marlin started 11th and led 57 laps at Darlington Raceway en route to victory. In 15 visits to Darlington, EGR drivers have accumulated one win, seven top-five finishes, 10 top-10 finishes and have led 409 laps.
