NASCAR Cup Series

It's been a wacky superspeedway year for Ryan Newman, and Sunday's Sprint Cup race provided the same scenario for the U.S. Army driver, whose potentially winning car was once again a magnet for trouble.

Sadly, we are now looking at the politics of the sport. Now the politics have always been there it's just that they were under currents that the fans couldn't hear and were not exposed to.

Brian Vickers (fifth) was the highest finishing Toyota driver in Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race at Talladega Superspeedway.

Jeff Burton and teammate Clint Bowyer did the two car tango up until the final turn on Sunday at Talladega Superspeedway. Bowyer pulled around Burton as they headed to the finish line, Bowyer edging out Burton by .018 seconds and captured his first victory of the season and the fifth of his career.

Roush Fenway Racing leaves Talladega Superspeedway holding the first and second positions in the 2011 Chase for the Sprint Cup point standings. Carl Edwards and Greg Biffle hung in the back of the field for the majority of Sunday’s 500-mile Sprint Cup race,.....

BRAD KESELOWSKI (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger R/T) Finished Fourth "It was interesting the whole race. Our Miller Lite Dodge was fast all day. I worked really hard with Dave Blaney all day. With its sixth victory of the 2011 season, by Clint Bowyer at Talladega Superspeedway, Richard Childress Racing reached historic NASCAR Sprint Cup Series win No. 100, a major milestone in the storied history of one of NASCAR's most prolific teams.

From neighboring towns and faraway states, the camping crowd has begun to roll into Martinsville Speedway for the upcoming TUMS Fast Relief 500 weekend.
