KYLE LARSON, NO. 42 DC SOLAR CAMARO ZL1 – Qualified 10th - WHAT WERE YOUR BIGGEST CHALLENGES IN QUALIFYING? “We just lacked balance and probably just a little bit of speed there, in Qualifying. I feel like our balance wasn’t terrible; it was better than practice, but we were still pretty slow. So hopefully we can figure something out for the race tomorrow because if it drives like it did in practice, it’ll be a long race.”

KYLE BUSCH, No. 18 M&M’s Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing - Is it weird that somebody who hasn’t won during much of the year and made the playoffs is now in the position to potentially win the championship? “It’s kind of what the playoff format is all about, right? You come into this with guys who have a dominant regular season and then you reset the board and whoever is good in the final 10 (races) or three by three by three to one, obviously has a great shot to win the championship."

Hooters has expanded its association with 12-time NASCAR Cup Series champions Hendrick Motorsports with a new contract that extends its primary sponsorship of driver Chase Elliott and the No. 9 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 team for three years.

After Saturday night in Richmond, it should be confirmed that Martin Truex Jr. and Kyle Busch will be joining him. I feel pretty confident about Kevin Harvick and Joey Logano about now.

It was a tough day for Kevin Harvick last Sunday afternoon at Las Vegas Motor Speedway as he crashed on Lap 147, crushing his day and resulting in a 39th place finish.

NASCAR today announced that Steve Phelps has been named NASCAR President, effective October 1, 2018. Brent Dewar has elected to step down and will remain with the company through the end of the 2018 racing season, transitioning to a senior consulting and advisory role in 2019.
