This past weekend at Chicagoland saw the most thrilling last-lap battle for a win of the season. And now we head back to Daytona, where the history of the July Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race is worthy of its own highlight reel (Saturday, July 7 at 7 p.m. ET on NBC, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).

The field was coming back to the white flag in the Daytona 500, and Matt DiBenedetto found himself running 5th with just one more full circuit around the 2.5-mile superspeedway. Unfortunately, the No.32 Hurricane Heist Ford never made it back around to see the white-flag.

Roush Fenway Racing treks south to the Florida coast this weekend as the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) and NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) visit Daytona International Speedway for the second time this season. RFR has visited victory lane twice at the famed 2.5-mile Superspeedway in the past year, and has 11 total wins at the track.

Stenhouse has 12 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) starts at Daytona International Speedway (DIS) with an average starting position of 19.2 and average finishing position of 18.9.

Daytona Preview: The Series makes its way to Daytona Beach for Saturday night’s Coke Zero Sugar 400 around the 2.5-mile Daytona International Speedway. Hamlin’s last visit to the tri-oval in February produced a third-place finish, his seventh top-five finish at Daytona in 25 total Cup starts.

No matter how many ways you analyze Martin Truex Jr.’s results in recent superspeedway races, the facts don’t change. Simply put, the big restrictor-plate tracks – Daytona and Talladega – have not been kind to the Furniture Row Racing driver.
