Four years ago, Martin Truex Jr. sat on his front porch thinking his career was over. Four years later, he held off a hard charging Kyle Busch to win the Ford EcoBoost 400 and the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series championship.

Despite a disappointing 29th-place finish in the Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway today, Ryan Blaney – driving his last race for the Motorcraft/Quick Lane Racing team – handed Wood Brothers Racing its best season since 1995. Blaney and the Wood Brothers end up ninth in the overall season points standings.

KYLE LARSON, NO. 42 CREDIT ONE BANK/DC SOLAR CHEVROLET SS – Finished 3 - DESCRIBE THE LAST FEW LAPS AND RACING A COUPLE OF CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENDERS AND HOW YOU APPROACHED THE LAST FEW LAPS: “Yeah, we had a great Credit One Bank Chevy today. Throughout the first half especially. It seemed like the 18 and them guys were probably a little bit faster than me the first, I don’t know 15 laps a run and then I was really, really good. I was definitely better than them in front of me, but I was just stuck in their dirty air a little bit."

BRAD KESELOWSKI -- No. 2 Miller Lite Ford Fusion (Finished 7th/4th in Championship) -- “We ran as hard as we could and put it all out there and just basically didn’t have enough speed. On the mile-and-a-halves we weren’t as good as the 78 and 18 and those guys. This last race coming down to a mile-and-a-half didn’t particularly bode well for us, but my team ran as hard as they could run. They made some great calls - Paul Wolfe and everybody and put ourselves in position every chance we could to make the most out of the opportunities that existed without just being lightning fast, but it wasn’t there.”

DENNY HAMLIN, No. 11 FedEx Express Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing - Starting Position: 1st - How do you feel about your qualifying lap? “We had them there by a little bit, I messed up three and four a little bit. Honestly, it was a great run and we did great adjustments there. Our FedEx Camry was obviously very fast that last run. I love this race track and wish we would have our chance, but that will be another day, another year for us.”

BRAD KESELOWSKI -- No. 2 Miller Lite Ford Fusion (Qualified 5th) PRESS CONFERENCE -- “It is a decent effort position wise. These races are so long that where you start isn’t always super important. But getting a decent pit selection as qualifying does for you not a bad thing. There’s a half a dozen good pit stalls and we able to get one of those. We don’t have a lot of tires to put on the race. When we do we’ll have a decent position to pit from so that’s good.”

TEAM CHEVY NOTES & QUOTES: KYLE LARSON, NO. 42 CREDIT ONE/DC SOLAR CHEVROLET SS – Qualified 7th - LAST QUALIFYING SESSION OF THE SEASON, NOT THE POLE, BUT STILL A SOLID EFFORT: “Yeah, it was by far our best qualifying effort here at Homestead, so I’m happy about that. I got really loose during the last round in Turns 1 and 2 and then nailed my (Turns) 3 and 4, so I felt like I could have ended up fourth or so if I would have gotten through (Turns) 1 and 2 better. Yeah, we will get a better pit stall selection than normal and hopefully that will help our race out.”
