Martin Truex Jr. earned a hard-fought fourth-place finish as he continued his playoff consistency Sunday in the Apache Warrior 400 at Dover International Speedway.

After picking up seven stage points in stage one of Sunday’s Apache Warrior 400 at the Monster Mile, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. drove his Fastenal Ford to a 19th-place finish securing his spot in the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs Round of 12. With the points resetting after each round, Stenhouse is currently seeded in the eighth position out of 12.

Trevor Bayne, driver of the No. 6 Ford EcoBoost Ford Fusion, recorded a 24th-place finish in Sunday’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) event at Dover International Speedway.

Kyle Busch ran down and passed Chase Elliott with two laps remaining to win the Apache Warrior 400 at Dover International Speedway.

Chase Elliott looked to be on his way to his first career victory in the waning laps of the Apache Warrior 400 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) race at Dover International Speedway, but a hard charging Kyle Busch (Toyota) eclipsed the young Chevy driver on the final lap to deny him his first MENCS victory. Elliott led three different times in his No. 24 NAPA Chevrolet SS for 138 laps, the most of any driver during the event. This marks Elliott’s fifth career runner-up finish in 70 Cup Series starts. The runner-up effort was his best finish in four races at the ‘Monster Mile.’

Ryan Blaney and the Motorcraft/Quick Lane Racing team battled loose handling and ill-timed cautions early in the Apache Warrior 400 at Dover International Speedway, ended up finishing 23rd but still advanced to the second round of the NASCAR Playoffs.

I’m just so disappointed in myself. Golly, I couldn’t have had it any easier. It ran green from the stage break all the way to the end. And, I gave it away. I appreciate my team and their efforts today. The pit stops were great and they kept us in the ballgame. I didn’t.”

RYAN BLANEY – No. 21 Motorcraft/Quick Lane Ford Fusion (Finished 23rd) (Advances to Playoff Round 2) NOT THE TYPE OF DAY YOU WERE LOOKING FOR, BUT IS THERE A SILVER LINING IN THE FACT THAT YOU ADVANCE TO ROUND 2? “Yeah, there is a silver lining in that for sure. It is definitely not the day we wanted and we got trapped a lap down early, didn’t fire off very good. At least we got our car a little better the last 100 laps or so but then we had an issue and I had to take it easy toward the end. It figures. We got the car better and then just had to kind of ride around the last 60 laps or so. That stunk. The main goal is to transfer and I think the second round is really good for us. I am really excited about that. I am excited to get to Charlotte.”

DOVER, Del. (September 30, 2017) With the first cutoff race to the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs looming, Chevrolet’s Chase Elliott and Jimmie Johnson, both championship contenders, led the way on the speed chart heading into tomorrow’s Apache Warriors 400 at Dover.

Many in the NASCAR community agree with the comments made by Trump, Childress, and Petty, that whoever refuses to stand for the anthem should be fired. It has made a volatile situation, first started in the NFL, worse. Many others in the NASCAR community also believe that these comments did more harm than good for the sport's image, an image it has tried to shed and has only marginally succeeded.
