NASCAR Cup Series

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series returns to Michigan International Speedway this weekend and Ford will be looking to continue an impressive streak that began when the facility opened in 1969.  Ford has won at least one race in 35 of the 48 years the track has been in operation, including 12 season sweeps.  In fact, Ford Motor Company has won almost half of the MENCS events held as Ford (35) and Mercury (12) have combined to capture 47 of the 96 races.

In the midst of one of their best seasons in years the Wood Brothers and their young driver are headed to Michigan International Speedway hoping for a strong run in front of their long-time backers at Ford Motor Company.

Truex held off Matt Kenseth to win the I Love New York 355 At The Glen, earning his fourth win of the season. Truex leads the Monster Energy Cup points standings by 16 over Kyle Busch.

The early part of the race could be summed up in this fashion. Kyle Busch won the opening stage but came in during the break to tighten a loose wheel and dropped out of the first 30 to begin the second.

Hendrick Motorsports and Kasey Kahne will end their six-year run together following the 2017 NASCAR Cup Series season. The driver has been released from the final year of his contract, allowing him to immediately pursue opportunities for 2018.

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and Camping World Truck Series in the Irish Hills of Michigan International Speedway and the XFINITY Series hits the road course of Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Erik Jones made big gains in his young road racing career by steering his No. 77 5-hour ENERGY Extra Strength Toyota to a 10th-place finish in Sunday’s I Love New York 355 at the Glen.

Matt Kenseth maintained his thin lead for the cutoff spot in the playoffs with a season-best second-place finish in the I Love New York 355 at The Glen at Watkins Glen International.

Recap: Brad Keselowski started Sunday’s I Love NY 355 at Watkins Glen International from the eighth position before finishing 15th in the No. 2 Miller Lite Ford Fusion. As the race began, Keselowski quickly moved into the top five despite struggling for forward drive on the exit of each corner of the seven-turn road course. He would maintain that position through the end of the first, 20-lap stage to pick up six bonus points.
