Defending Kansas: Toyota Camry drivers have experienced the most success at Kansas Speedway in the spring with all three of the manufacturer’s victories coming in the first-of-two annual appearances by the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) at the track.

Ryan Blaney and Jeremy Bullins head back this weekend to where it all started for them on the Cup circuit. The driver and crew chief of the No. 21 Motorcraft/Quick Lane Ford Fusion made their debut in NASCAR’s elite series back in 2014 at Kansas Speedway in a Team Penske Ford.

A ninth- and fourth-place finish in the last two races catapults Aric Almirola and the No. 43 Smithfield Ford team into Kansas. The team hopes momentum from the good runs will continue this weekend at Kansas Speedway. The team moved up three spots in the Championship Standings and looks to continue their journey forward at a track that is historically good for them.

Difference in turns: “The toughest thing at Kansas is really the degree of banking," Allmendinger said. In Turns 1, 2, 3 and 4, I think they say it’s the same, but both ends of the racetrack drive a lot different. Turns 1 and 2 to me always feels a lot faster.

FIRST NIGHT RACE OF THE SEASON: "One of the fun aspects of the spring race at Kansas Speedway is it's under the lights and the first Saturday night race of the season," Buescher said. "I'm looking forward to getting the No. 37 Scott Products Chevrolet on track. The track conditions for the race will definitely be different from practice on Friday."
