The California kid, Kyle Larson, piloting the No. 42 Target Chevrolet SS, finally took home his first victory of 2017 at today’s Auto Club 400 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENSC) at Auto Club Speedway (ACS). The 24-year-old Elk Grove, California native broke a three-week consecutive run of runner-up finishes to capture his second-career victory in only his 116th Cup Series start. Larson led a race-high 110 of the 202 laps en route to his first win at the 2-mile venue. Larson becomes the fourth driver in ACS history to complete the weekend sweep by winning both the Xfinity and Cup Series races at the track in the same weekend.

Stenhouse Jr. Finishes 22nd at Fontana After Late-Race Accident

After solidly running in the top-15 for a majority of Sunday’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) race at Auto Club Speedway, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. restarted ninth with five laps remaining but contact was made sending the Fastenal Ford spinning. With only two laps remaining, Stenhouse was forced to settle with a 22nd-place finish.
