Kyle Larson held off and pulled away from Brad Keselowski and Clint Bowyer on the final green-white-checkers restart to capture his first win of 2017, the second win of his Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) career and his first win at Auto Club Speedway.

Ford Performance has won at Martinsville Speedway 26 times overall and as the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series prepares for the first of two visits to the half-mile oval, the standings show five Ford drivers holding down spots in the Top 10.

“Martinsville is a difficult half-mile track that I have struggled at in the past. I’m going to spend some time this week in the simulator to get more comfortable with the feel of the track. It’s a long race, so I need to remind myself to be patient.

"I just love Martinsville," Allmendinger said. "It’s for sure a place where we’ve had some great runs. We almost won there last year. It's such a good place for us. We're hoping to have some good fortune there."

“Don’t wreck. Turn left. Save brakes,” Buescher said. “Martinsville Speedway is a tough short track. It’s very hard on brakes. I think everyone will fight getting the car to pivot through the center. Trying to make sure we have smooth power on exit to get down the straightaway. It’s basically two drag races with U-turns at both ends.”

Now home to America's Largest Indoor Waterpark, Kalahari Resorts will once again serve as the primary sponsor on Ryan Newman's No. 31 Chevrolet SS at Pocono Raceway on June 11, 2017, as well as host RCR during its two stops on the Series schedule in Pennsylvania.

After an in-depth review and exhaustive consultations with NASCAR, Goodyear, race teams and drivers, Atlanta Motor Speedway has elected to postpone its plan to resurface the 20-year-old 1.54-mile racing surface at least until after its 2018 NASCAR weekend.

Kyle Larson won his second career Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race yesterday in Fontana, California. Famous for running right next to the wall, Larson showed his dirt racing skills yesterday by running the top groove of the track and making that work very well.
