Sunday evening Kurt Busch was able to give Stewart-Haas Racing its first Daytona 500 victory. Kurt Busch took the lead on the final lap of Nascar's most prestigious race and was able to hold off Ryan Blaney to win the 2017 Daytona 500 for his new manufacturer Ford and SHR.

Twelve hours after celebrating his DAYTONA 500 victory in Daytona International Speedway’s Gatorade Victory Lane, the newest champion of “The Great American Race” was still processing the defining moment of his NASCAR career.

After a rough and tumble opening weekend for all three national touring series, the 2017 NASCAR season shifts 400 miles north to Atlanta Motor Speedway, a track where drivers will face a whole different set of challenges, as the historic facility, first opened in 1960, closes the books on one iconic era of racing before opening another on a new surface in 2018.

After winning Sunday’s Daytona 500, Kurt Busch and his No. 41 Haas Automation/Monster Energy Ford Fusion team participated in a breakfast ceremony at Daytona International Speedway. Thanks to some quick work by the Wood Brothers crew and some heads-up driving by Ryan Blaney, the Motorcraft/Quick Lane team was able to do its part to deliver Ford Motor Company a 1-2 finish in NASCAR’s biggest race.

Trevor Bayne, driver of the No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Fusion, overcame three different multi-car incidents on Sunday afternoon in the 59th running of the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway to record a 10th-place finish. The result is Bayne’s fourth career top-10 at “The World Center of Racing.”

Recap: Brad Keselowski and the No. 2 Miller Lite Ford Fusion team finished 27th in Sunday’s 59th running of the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway, a race where few cars finished the race unscathed. One of the early favorites to win the race based on his recent success on restrictor-plate tracks, Keselowski began the 200-lap race from the seventh position after finishing fourth in the first Can-Am Duel race on Thursday evening.

He took the lead with two laps remaining, but then his position started to go in the wrong direction. Truex got shuffled out of line, and on the final lap, his car ran out of fuel, leaving him with a 13th-place finish in the 2017 NASCAR Cup Series season opener.

The Daytona 500 ended just past the halfway point for Erik Jones when the car directly in front of his No. 77 5-hour ENERGY Toyota Camry spun out.
