Erik Jones saw a potential top-10 finish nearly disappear in the waning laps of the Camping World 500 but used four fresh tires on the No. 77 5-hour ENERGY Toyota Camry to pick up six spots over the final three laps to finish a NASCAR Cup Series career-best eighth at Phoenix Raceway.

In only his fourth race with Furniture Row Racing Erik Jones scored a career best NASCAR Cup Series finish of eighth while Martin Truex Jr. drove a tenacious race, overcoming multiple issues to post a respectable 11th-place result.

The three drivers who combined to lead the most laps in the Valley of the Sun finished across the board on Sunday.

Ryan Newman, driver of the No. 31 Grainger Chevrolet, snapped a 127-race winless streak on Sunday by taking the checkered flag at the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Camping World 500 at Phoenix Raceway. Although Newman led just six laps of the 314-lap race, a late-race pit strategy by crew chief Luke Lambert led to Newman’s overtime victory, and his second Cup win at Phoenix Raceway.

When the final yellow flag was displayed sending the Camping World 500 into overtime, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. used pit strategy in the final laps to score his first top-five of the 2017 season in Sunday’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) race at Phoenix Raceway.

When Ryan Newman and the No. 31 Grainger Chevrolet SS team made a gutsy call to stay out on old tires while the leaders pitted during the final caution in the Camping World 500 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENSC) race at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR), it netted winning results.

Trevor Bayne, driver of the No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Fusion, improved three positions in the closing laps of Sunday afternoon’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) event at Phoenix International Raceway to record a 19th-place finish.
