Tuesday morning’s portion of the 35th Annual NASCAR Media Tour hosted by Charlotte Motor Speedway saw four Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series drivers discuss the three-stage race format enhancements announced on Monday.

Faced with a sport that is losing fans and lowering television ratings, NASCAR kicked off the 2017 Charlotte Motor Speedway Media Tour with a bombshell. NASCAR racing in its three major divisions will be different this year.

WIX® Filters, a global manufacturer of filtration products, has joined Furniture Row Racing as a key technical partner, which includes a primary and associate sponsorship role with the Denver, Colo.-based team during the 2017 NASCAR Cup Series season.

On Monday evening, NASCAR held a press conference that announced dramatic changes to its race and points format.

NASCAR, in collaboration with industry stakeholders, announced today an enhanced competition format that will be implemented in all three of its national series – the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, the NASCAR XFINITY Series and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

For three years, "The King" Richard Petty, his race team Richard Petty Motorsports and his high performance speed shop, Petty's Garage, partnered to build a limited edition Ford Mustang for the Paralyzed Veterans of America (Paralyzed Veterans). Petty, a long-time supporter of Paralyzed Veterans, made a recent stop at the Mecum Auto Auction in Kissimmee, Fla., as the 2017 Ford Mustang GT was auctioned off.

The multi-PLATINUM trio Lady Antebellum will perform the pre-race-show prior to the start of the 59th annual DAYTONA 500 on Sunday, Feb. 26 (FOX, FOX Deportes, MRN Radio and SiriusXM Radio), the opening race of the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season.
