NASCAR Cup Series

It may be the first NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) race at Pocono Raceway, but NXS competitor Ray Black Jr. is ready to make his third NASCAR career start at the 2.5-mile triangle track this weekend in the Pocono Green 250.

A young businessman from Sanger, Texas will have his snow cone business alongside Fortune 500 companies in the upcoming NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway, as the No. 95 Chevrolet of Circle Sport-Leavine Family Racing will showcase two small businesses with causes close to their hearts this weekend.

“Charlotte was the kind of weekend we all dream about. Our Toyota Camry was awesome. We won the pole, had the fastest car in the final practice and closed the deal in the longest race of the year. But that was last week and this week it’s Pocono.

In 145 starts at Pocono Raceway, RCR team owner Richard Childress has two wins, both with Dale Earnhardt, who won on July 19, 1987 and July 18, 1993. Additionally, RCR has earned one pole award, 16 top-five and 54 top-10 finishes with 604 laps led at the uniquely-shaped three-turn track.

Truex won the pole and led 392 of 400 laps on his way to a dominating win in the Coca Cola 600, leading all but 12 miles of the race.

You can put away the ‘purple stuff’ – SunnyD is back on the No. 17 Ford Fusion this weekend in Pocono. With that, driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is launching a campaign to have his fans “Share a SunnyD” with a friend.

“I’m ready to rebound this weekend in Pocono. I’m confident that (crew chief) Matt (Puccia) will give me a solid AdvoCare Ford this weekend and that we can run up front and get a strong finish come Sunday afternoon.”

“We didn’t have the best of luck at Pocono last year so hopefully we can rebound this year. Pocono is a unique track because all three corners are distinct. We have SunnyD back on our Ford which is a fan favorite. Fuel mileage usually comes into play so hopefully we can keep our SunnyD Ford clean and be there at the end.”

“Pocono is a unique place and a lot of fun to race at. You hear us talk about three different corners, different banking, dogleg, tunnel turn, and a real flat long turn three to go down a big long straightaway. Strategy is getting your car to turn and have grip in all those different corners.
