NASCAR Cup Series

Trevor Bayne, driver of the No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Fusion, earned an 18th-place finish on Sunday afternoon at Homestead-Miami Speedway in the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) season finale.

Camry driver Kyle Busch won his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) championship when he finished first in his Joe Gibbs Racing No. 18 M&M’s Toyota Camry in Sunday’s race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

The curtain has fallen on the 2015 season and Kyle Busch is standing atop the NASCAR world. The driver of the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota scored both his 34th career victory and first championship in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

You always want to win, but I’ve learned not to get greedy. After last year, I felt like we had everything go our way and tonight, it didn’t go our way. But, just congratulations to the No. 18 team and everything they did and all of our guys; they’ve done a great job all year.”

Ryan Blaney and the Motorcraft/Quick Lane Racing Team battled back from a bad re-start after the first caution of the race to finish 17th in the season-ending Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

JOEY LOGANO – No. 22 Shell/Pennzoil Ford Fusion (FINISHED 4th) – “Unfortunately, we didn’t win and that’s what we wanted to do. We had a fast Shell/Pennzoil Ford that led a lot of laps, so I’m proud of the laps we led. We had a few good runs and made an adjustment that just took it out of the track and by the time we got it back we lost too much track position. We had a bad pit stop under green and lost more there, so it was too little, too late. We couldn’t redeem ourselves after a couple mistakes tonight.”

Only nine months removed from suffering a broken right leg and left foot in an accident at Daytona, Kyle Busch won at Homestead-Miami Speedway to capture the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship. The title is the first for Busch and Toyota.

On lap 47, Clint Bowyer bounced off Sam Hornish Jr. exiting turn 2. He over corrected, slid up the track, clipped Dale Earnhardt Jr. and sent him into the inside wall. Both drivers took their cars to the garage with Bowyer unable to continue on.

After an hour delay by rain, track drying is almost complete as of this post's publishing and we're set to crown a champion at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

The start of the Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway is currently on hold due to down-pouring showers. A line of showers is passing over the track at the moment as one would expect in Florida.
